Thursday in Review

Friday morning means that she will meet Mr. David Hanks for a key handover and the process of moving into a new home will begin. For the first time since the mid-90s she is choosing a housing situation that she senses will be sane. It's been her desire to live in a household that allows her to be who she is and contribute to the home. That desire has come to fruition.

This is the gift of the magi, the three kings. This year a freshness is the gift.

Funny, earlier last summer she worked very poorly with a life coach who introduced the theme of "Home is Where the Heart Is" and she illustrated these things. She spent time creating new illustrations as meditation for what home meant each day. Clearly this sat with her and finally she is acting on that meditation.

This is a grand opportunity.

The wisdom of Robert Brezny rings very true for her today:

Sagittarius Horoscope for week of January 5, 2006

A few weeks ago a group of people in the Netherlands reserved a large hall in hopes of breaking the world record for falling dominoes. Their goal was to set up and then topple 4,321,000 of the rectangular black tiles. While they were working, a sparrow flew in an open window and accidentally knocked over 23,000 pieces. It was only a temporary setback, however. The record-seekers restored the prematurely fallen pieces and ultimately achieved their goal. I predict that this vignette will have a metaphorical similarity to your destiny in 2006. If you assign yourself an epic yet fun goal (which I hope you will), you'll probably experience an unforeseen interruption, but will prevail in the end. (P.S. Don't do anything like what the Dutch people did, which was shoot the bird.)

Her past has been riddled with a sense of defeat from smaller setbacks. A small bit of knowledge about finances assures her there is opportunity at every turn, at least intellectually. A small bit of financial knowledge paired with logic assures her that the wealthy remain so because their resources work for them irregardless of the irrational market movement. This small bit of financial knowledge can be used a metaphor for life.

She smells what is left of the lavendar essential oil on her coat collar. It has weakened througout the evening.

She was honored to be asked to film the band at Uptown tonight. The crowd was thin, which allowed for her to move about taking video footage. She experimented with the zoom and wide shots, moving slowly, panning. Her fascination is with hand movement. There is something quite brilliant when human hands move over strings. It's beautiful.

Her friend Michelle is her bell weather. She caught up with her and sees how radiant she is, joyful in her relationship and is truly happy for her. Part of her turns introspective, sad to be butting up against an arbitrary timeline she has created for herself.

Her anxiety should be dissipated since she heard a radio story on KALW on Tuesday morning highlighting dulas and community partners coming together to enlist their services to lower income mothers, specifically teen mothers.

It's amazing what is touted as technology and discovery. It amazes her because the Old Ways are discovered by a segment of the population steeped in purchasing services and products, to hear the birthing support to a woman being commodified as a "hot item" sound strange.

Massaging the stomach of a woman beginning the birthing process and tending to her needs does not seem remotely foreign to her. She is attracted by this prospect. If she is not a mother herself, why not bring life into the world safely? Supportively? Lovingly?

Somewhere in Boston, Massachusetts her friend sleeps. She is considering packing up and moving to Boston, starting life anew again. Is it because she is afraid? Is it because she is restless and needs a change of scenery? What are her motivations?

Her upper lip has some aggrivated follicles. She is annoyed by the less than airbrushed perfection of her lip line.

But there is something beautiful in her eyes, despite the sadness that is developing under them. These eyes have many stories and have so many expectations.

We will continue to cultivate the stories of these brown eyes. That is the inspiration...

From this moment on, her task will be to record all the brown eyes witness. From this day forward she will act on the potential of these visions. No fear.
